After graduating from White Station High School in Memphis, TN, Dr. Kaplan completed a BA in Biology at the University of Kansas. He then ret
urned to Memphis to attend the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. From there, Dr. Kaplan headed north to the University of Detroit Mercy for his ort
hodontic residency, where he was awarded a certificate in orthodontics. He also earned his Masters of Science degree after completing his thesis, The Benefits of Maxillary and Mandibular Expansion Performed in the Mixed Dentition (Ages 7-10).
Dr. Kaplan is board-eligible to be a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the Atlanta chapter of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. He’s a
past director of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists, and is currently a member of the following organizations:

Chamblee Braces
Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. The metal or ceramic brackets are attached to your teeth and connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics.
These components work together to apply gentle pressure to your teeth, as long as you are also having regular adjustments with our doctors. This will gradually move the teeth into their improved positions.
Chamblee braces are an excellent choice for correcting many tooth issues, from simple to complex. Overall treatment time can be slightly reduced because traditional braces sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might. In addition, braces don’t require some of the more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can. This makes Chamblee braces a cost-effective orthodontic option for patients on a budget.
Chamblee Invisalign
This option is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists, which has made it the top alternative to traditional braces. The Chamblee Invisalign system doesn’t use brackets and bands, but instead uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move the teeth into alignment.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient’s teeth. The trays are virtually invisible and are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. This keeps the teeth moving in the right direction! Aligners must be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment in order for them to do their job. Patients who neglect to wear the aligners as directed can add time to the orthodontic process, and might also experience negative effects on the results.
